I was thinking, "Now, why would anyone ever not use Beam Weapon," but then I saw the clause at the end. That balances it out - if the ability isn't exactly prototypical to the game.
Gee, you know, maybe that Guard should have, you know, Bodyguard?
I like that Brute Guard. It seems familiar...lol.
Whoa. You crammed Triple on to that little piece?
Are these Trandoshans from Republic Commando?

The beam weapons used up fluids in the Geo's body, and I wasn't exactly sure how to represent that other than damaging the character.
Lol. Bodyguard would increase the price to at least 6, but I like that change. I'm going to add it.
Lol.
Yep, these are the Ts from Republic Commando. I already have a Trandoshan Slaver, so I had to make a Smuggler instead. The Elite represents those huge Ts with the heavy guns. I considered Heavy Weapon, to lower its cost, but I wasn't sure (it can also gain Twin from Gen Whorm Loathsom from GaW).

Really? I didn't know that. That's interesting. It does fit well, then.
6 is about right. A bodyguard should have Quick Reactions anyway.
Oh. Got it. That makes sense. Maybe he should have Penetration 10 - sort or odd on a living piece, but it'd fit, I think.

Yeah, it's really unique. That's why the weapon only worked for so long in the game, as it used up the fluids still left in it. Supposedly. I never actually played the game ;P
Yeah. Amazingly, this would be the first.
I actually had that on the piece too, it seemed to fit perfectly...but then I read that the ACP guns were notorious for NOT being able to piece heavy armor. Whether it's true or not, I can't be sure, but I didn't want to put Pen on it if there was a possibility that it wouldn't fit at all.
Speaking of Heavy Armor, would my Heavy Armor SA (from the Neimoidian Brute Guard) work with the Elite Merc?

I did. I prefer 3rd person games to 1st person shooters, but that was a fun game. Good story, too.
Ever? Even WotC doesn't have one?
Uh, wherever that came from was false. Those guns went right through your shields in-game, then cut your armor up if you didn't move. A short burst could kill you, so you kept moving when there was a big ugly Trando with an even bigger uglier gun.
Elite Merc? In Fringe?

Yeah. With SW, it's always better with a lightsaber (which looks better in 3rd person).
Well, no WotC character has Bodyguard and Quick Reactions. Some customs might, but there aren't any I can remember.
Here's some excerpts from the Wook:
The first is taken from the Heavy Gun, the second from the normal gun. Basically, it says that the guns were effective against lightly armored opponents, such as the commandos or super battle droids, but would be less effective against heavily armored targets, like AT-STs or Tank droids, the characters that would actually have DR.
Oh, no, the Trandoshan Elite here.

True. Lol.
That seems like a natural combo. Odd that it hasn't been done.
That's not entirely prototypically correct. Those things were the most damaging guns in the game, aside from guns designed for armor piercing. Shields went down, like it said, but the Battle Droids could only take a few hits before they went down. Notice it says "relatively," that means less effective than against shields, not necessarily ineffective.
Yes, it'd fit quite well. Those things were my least favorite things in the game.

Yeah. Not that there have been excessive numbers of Bodyguards, but still, it is a pretty obvious combo.
Hmm. Well, Pen 10 wouldn't help against Shields anyway, and it's not like the clone troopers have DR10. I think I'll just leave it, as it isn't really necessary. The Triple Attack will still take out most Clone Commandos, even with their Shields.
Okay, I'll add it in. Cost look good?

Yeah...one would think, anyway. It doesn't make much sense in-game, but IRL it makes huge amounts of sense.
Lol. Ok. That works...I think vehicles tend to have Penetration anyway.
+/- 2 points, I'd say. What do you think?

Yeah. A Bodyguard without Quick Reactions wouldn't be very successful.
Yeah, a lot of them do. It's not like it's a massively powerful ability, either.
I'll drop it to 27 for now.

LOL. This is true.
Right...it's very situational.
Ok. That works for me. He doesn't have a whole lot aside from the Triple and Heavy Armor.

Yeah.
Yeah. There's only a handful of playable pieces with Damage Reduction to begin with (the only one I can think of off the top of my head being Luke's Snowspeeder), but it can be effective if you face AT-STs.
Yeah. And he doesn't have a whole lot of synergy with the Seps.

AT-AT!!!
Right. He could even be Fringe, but it works in either.

Lol. The AT-AT is a lot of fun (I don't have one, but I've played against and with one). However, I've never seen one survive a skirmish. It's wayyyy to easy to take down for its size. Even with DR20.
True. Though I would like to keep him off a Rebel squad (where he can gain easy Evade and GMA).
