Ok, to get people's brains working, lets start a 'game'. Post a squad that you think can counter the squad posted above you, and of course a small (or long if need be) explanation of why it could work. If you see a response to one of your squads that you do not think would work so well, by all means say so. I will be giving karma to anyone who successfully challenges my squads, and I hope, though I cannot expect, that other people will do similarly. And besides getting people's brains working, this can show some great squad ideas and character combos that newer players may not know of. I'll start off with a deceptively simple problem:
General Grievous, Droid Army Commander 57 points Battle Droid Officer 9 points Gha Nachkt 12 points 15 Battle Droids 45 points 2 Heavy Super Battle Droids 26 points
149 total
Have fun, and I warn you the most obvious solution to this squad does not work so well.....for a reason I will post after someone tries it....

Here is my crack at it:
Telosian Tank Droid 38 points Rebel Commando Strike Leader 18 points 4 Elite Rebel Commando 64 points General Crix Madine 16 points Juno Eclipse 8 points 2 Ugnaught Demolitionist 6 points
150 total
That was something I came up with kind of quick, so there might be something I can't see that might be a problem. Anyways, the Tank Droid and its DR 10 will help protect it from all the Battle Droids, while it can take out hordes of them with Twin Attack/Splash 10. The Elite Rebel Commandos get Cunning +20 and can hit the droids (and Grievous, I believe, for 100 damage each if cunning gets in there. Also Juno and Madine may be able to Disrupt GG's CE and make taking down the droids a lot easier. The Override provided by the Commandos and the Satchel Charge provided by the Uggies will help with door control as well. What do you think, darthfuzzball?

I think you get some karma for not posting a strafe attack squad which would not have worked. ;D

Lol. Honestly (this may sound stupid) I didn't even think of using a strafe attack squad. I would like to here what you had in mind (and how to counter it).

well, any strafe attack squad (even with the extremely fast rebel snowspeeders) would not work because of the following clause in strafe attack: "This character cannot move directly back into a square it just moved out of." With some careful thought, that many battle droids can be spread out in exactly a way so as not to let a strafe-attacker land in the middle of them. There are enough of them that the strafe-attacker could not move all the way through them, and could not move halfway in and move back out because of the above clause. The strafe-attacker would be forced to make its single regular attack, and have the massive horde of droids kill it in one round. If it had DR 10, that's what the Heavy droids are for. I actually played this out with a friend last night in case someone did post a strafe attack squad. I'll probably post a counter to your squad later today, i just don't have the time right now

Now I see what you mean. That makes sense. How would your squad try and counter mine? I can't see anything, but there is probably a glaring weakness. I would probably take out the Heavies with the Commandos first, and then move onto the BDs and GG.

Okay, sounds good. It was meant to be antidroid, but I am interested to see your counter-squad.

Ooh. I'm not even gonna try this; I'd lose horribly.
However, do we get to use figures from the Database?

Here you go:
Kyle Katarn, Jedi Battlemaster 54 points Han Solo, Galactic Hero 50 points Mara Jade, Jedi 45 points
149 total
don't think this requires much explanation. Basically:
DR doesn't work against Lightsabers Kyle has Disruptive, and since he's melee, he'll be close to you anyway. Without Cunning, you'll be hard pressed to do much damage to me at all, and without super stealth han can lay damage into you.
Now someone post a squad that can counter this.

Here is a very quick counter I came up with:
Darth Bane 82 points Cade Skywalker 61 points Duros Explorer 7 points
150 total
Pretty straight-forward. Basically, Bane is a beast aganst Kyle/Mara (and Han, really), while Cade with BH+4 and lots of attacks/Splash will be good against all three. The Duros Explorer is basically filler, but could combine fire with Cade. What do you think?
