Lol. He has to compete with General Wedge, and Oddball gives out 'nades 20 and Penetration 20 to pilots. Plus there's Amidala to give them Mobile, and then there's Tarpals letting them 'nades 20 twice a round. Idk.

Lol. The above combo is in what faction, exactly? Lucas' favorite faction, maybe?
Yeah, true, Gen Wedge is another piece which messed up the meta.

Lol. Although, even mobile 'nades 30 isn't too good, b/c the target has to be within 6, where the fragile pilots can be blasted pretty easily.
Yeah, Gen Wedge was pretty bad. The NR needed some help, but the Vong/Sith/OR could have used it a lot more.

Yeah, it's true that the piece is fragile, which is its redeeming grace here.

Yeah. Unfortunately, like Oddball, this guy wouldn't see play outside of Pilot themed squads b/c of superior faction support and better characters.

Exactly. The NR, while small, is based around a few excellent characters as compared to a lot of characters that you say "meh" (Separatists), even more so than the Mandalorians. The pieces in NR won't be designed to replace other pieces in NR, but to provide very specialized, very powerful squads.

Yeah, that's it exactly. The Mandos only have 18 pieces (counting reprints, if any), but they are very playable. The OR has 27 pieces (again, counting reprints), but are not playable competively. The NR has 25-35 pieces, I believe, but they are very playable. I'm not even going to say anything about the Republic/Empire/Rebels, who all have over 120 pieces. It just shows that the NR and Mandos get better pieces and, unfortunately, the Sith/OR/Vong get okay pieces, just good pieces, and crap.

Yes, but the Sith is almost playable. It's so close...it just needs some good middle-level pieces. The OR, on the otherhand, get crap.

Yeah, the Sith are very close. Really all they need is a good piece like the new Leia or Kol. The Sith got some good mid cost support in JA (Sith Lord, Apprentice, Marauder), and some mediocre mid cost support (Maul, Krath War Droid). I was hoping Maul would be something like Kol, pretty cheap, but very powerful. And he comes out pretty bad. Oh well. Maybe next set.
Yeah, the OR is still far from playable, but at least we know they're heading in the right direction with the Exile and Battlemaster. But the Vong with all of their 13 pieces (14 if you count the reprint), are not even close to far from playable.

If the Battlemaster was Republic, everyone would be crying foul, saying he's broken and all, he's the next JWM...but since he's OR, no one does anything other than take it in stride.

Lol. Yeah, the JBM is a very powerful piece, but the OR sucks and can't really support it, other than the Captain or someone who can give it a defense boost. WotC should errata the JWM to Unique, like it was supposed to be. Lol. They would never do it, but it would be funny.

Yeah. Wasn't he supposed to be Cin Drallig?

Yeah, I think so. Looks somewhat like him, too. The JWM isn't WotC's biggest problem now, though...
