We need to finish Joruus, Tholme, and Morne. I think BH meant the figs. If I recall correctly, Fordo and Alto Stratus were done. I think there was a Demagol, but there were no instructions on how to do it, so I don't know if that counts. There might've been a fourth or fifth, but I'm drawing a blank. Don't view them as "competition" but as "fellow players who are in a place of authority". I don't remember anybody on this board dying and the rest of us being elected to rule the SW Customs Universe. I don't remember any election of any kind taking place with respect to the future of SWM. The folk at SWMGamers have exactly the same control over this particular project that the folk at WotC do. And there's nothing wrong with that. One would hope! I agree with BH that our best bet (when we're ready) is to "market" this set on all major SWM sites, which includes the WotC boards, SWMGamers, and Bloomilk (and the Holocron). The only potential complication that I could see at SWMGamers is that they might theoretically view a project like this as competiton to their upcoming Virtual Sets. I don't THINK they would, but I think it would be safest to approach the Powers That Be over there before we post our finished product on their site. A simple PM when the time is right will accomplish that. But what we do with TNLT AFTER it's finished is a different conversation that when we consider it finished... which brings us back to the discussion of what to do about custom figs.

We need to finish Joruus, Tholme, and Morne. I think BH meant the figs. Yeah, I did. I thought it might have been a coincidence that they were the ones we still needed finalized stats on, but that's unlikely. If I recall correctly, Fordo and Alto Stratus were done. I think there was a Demagol, but there were no instructions on how to do it, so I don't know if that counts. There might've been a fourth or fifth, but I'm drawing a blank. Hmm, we still have a ways to go. I would offer my help, but I am inexperienced when it comes to actually customizing the minis themselves (I have two -- and they're both only repaints). I agree. I could send the PM myself, as I have been a member there for awhile, but I'm not much of a contributor over there and one of you might be better, for lack of a better word, "qualified". But what we do with TNLT AFTER it's finished is a different conversation that when we consider it finished... which brings us back to the discussion of what to do about custom figs. If we can't find some more customizers to do the 3D figs (of which we are only about 1/4 of the ways done, I think) soon, I suggest we go with the paper minis. Unless we want until after MotF, in which case we could see if we can get some more of them done.

Well, would any of us be willing to do the customs? I don't really have a camera, and really haven't done many customs, but I might give one or two a try (assuming I have the time). I'd rather paper minis be a temporary measure at best, and it really wouldn't feel complete until we can get the figures done as well.

I can do most of the customs. I just need time. I can also let the guys at Gamers know of what we're doing (I wouldn't say I'm a prominent member, but people know who I am).
I'm still really opposed to paper figs. IMO, we should just wait for the whole set to get done before publishing anything.

I respect you being opposed to paper minis. A reasonable perspective.
I, however, am completely opposed to letting our work languish for months (if that turns out to be the case).
If you work on the majority of the minis yourself, RS, what would the timetable be? How long do you reasonably think it would take you to complete them?

I can do most of the customs. I just need time. I've done Gryph, Zannah, Tholme, Jerec, and Jorus (but not Juurus.) Some have been done by others easily and Watto will be easier when the Toydarian comes out this set ..... I was also thinking of a D&D Grell minus the beak for a Yammosk if that helps ... I'm not a green puty guy but fairly handy with paint if you need an ear to bounce ideas off of. I can also let the guys at Gamers know of what we're doing (I wouldn't say I'm a prominent member, but people know who I am). I know I'm much better known on the WOTC Boards than anywhere else ... if I'd known then what I know now .... I'm still really opposed to paper figs. IMO, we should just wait for the whole set to get done before publishing anything. Paper ... Ughhhh ...even as a last resort ... Ughhhh

Can we see the ones that you've done?
Do you have instructions for them? Do they follow the "less that 5 bucks and easy to make" guideline of the previous set?
From what I've seen, things appear to be going slowly (at least publicly; not sure what's going on with PMs) on the WotC boards.

Can we see the ones that you've done? Do you have instructions for them? Do they follow the "less that 5 bucks and easy to make" guideline of the previous set? When I offered to help it was more of an idea man of what might work, which body/head/arm combo's. My mini's wouldn't necessarily meet the rigors of "perfection" we should aim for ... I try to keep things simple ... some would "work" for me but might not for others ... no, don't have the instructions for them ... and while I try to have them in the pose of the pic, for me personnally it didn't matter. Still some things that may come close with a little work ... Gryph was a Snivvian head on an Ishi body with gun removed. Jorus was a D&D Adventuring Wizard (I already had it) with a repaint/lightsaber added. Tholme was a Jedi Counsular repaint/lightsaber repositioned. Been done by others numerous times ... Jerec was a Tyrannus with a repaint/Heroclix Moleman head if I remember correctly. Daala was a repainted Czerka with a Heroclix Jennifer Jones head (which is what I also used for a Ysanne Isard.) and That might work ....

If you remember the original TLT, some were far from "perfection"! If we want to mirror them, the guidelines (which I think have been re-established with Alto, Fordo, and maybe Zannah?) was that the parts required should be easily available for five bucks or less, and that an inexperienced customizer should be able to do them. It sounds like a lot of yours would fit into that model, so hopefully someone can re-create them. I think it would be too hard to remove the pig he's carrying, but D&D has a great Human Commoner or Human Farmer or something that would make a good body for Gryph otherwise. Suggestions are pretty important. I'm kinda proud of the fact that, despite the fact that I have no real skill (or time) for custom figs, Winter (and possibly another of the original TLT) was partly from my suggestion.

Gotta say, when it comes to Lord Hoth and Ganner, I like ours way better.

Indeed. MotF is....beyond words. -_-

I certainly like our Hoth better, and think we did a better job at making Ganner the Ganner we're familiar with. But I think Ganner also has a nice place in the NR, especially with GMLS. Luke now has a much better likelihood of getting off his triple twin. And if you have Luke 6 back from Ganner at the beginning of the turn he could potentially move a total of 32 squares in 1 turn. 12 from moving Luke 6 up to Ganner and 6 away from Ganner, then 20 from his own movement.

I think both Ganners are good additions to the NR, though ours seems more flavourful. As for Hoth...I was hoping for a character that costed at least 60+ with LS Defense, better stats, and a better CE. His base stats and CE are real downers.
