I would argue against dropping his cost. You compared him to VAU, good! They both hav beefy stats (Joruus with 20 less HP and no attacks), but Joruus not only has +1 force to start with, but a unique ability in dominate, and a CE that, no matter how you cut it, is potent. I would say at least the same as VAU is not more, depending on how his CE turns out. He's deceptively powerful, I'll say that much.

ok ... is the playtesting going to take the lead on this or should we just decide Dominate or BM?

What do you mean "just decide Dominate or BM"? I think he's gonna need a slightly more radical change dropping or changing either of those abilities.

I agree that Dominate/BM probably aren't the problems. Has he been playtested in his new version (which I think had Force 3 and FR1 with a redone CE, if I remember correctly)?

If playtesting was the best decider on what changes, I'm willing to defer to RS; if its a simple "what do we drop" then I thought It'd be Dominate or BM ... I don't know how rad it needs to be; RS? Whats the verdict on playtesting??

Haven't playtested since the first go. And you know, it's not like I'm the only one who can playtest...

Haven't playtested since the first go. And you know, it's not like I'm the only one who can playtest... Aren't you and X the only ones on Vassel? With a grandkid around, I'm lucky if I can work on cards at lunchtime at work. Today is the first time I've had an X-acto in my hand since Easter.

I can try playtesting him, but I don't have anyone with decent knowledge of SWM to play against. Vassal isn't coporating with me; somehow my module file because corrupted and it was deleted by my security system, and for a time I wasn't able to download it again. I think I've fixed the problems but haven't had time to re-download. Of course, I could playest him myself (and I should have time tomorrow), but the results may be inaccurate because of that.

Well, I was hoping that we'd be done with Celeste Morne before we had to face Joruus C'baoth, too, but I guess it didn't work out. Ol' JC is technically due for re-approval this Friday, so let's see how we can do.
Joruus C'baoth Faction: Imperial Cost: 49 Hit Points: 110 Defense: 20 Attack: +0 Damage: 0
Special Abilities Unique Dominate (Replaces turn: Target living character takes an immediate turn under your control, which does not count as one of your 2 activations this phase, even if it has already been activated this round; save 11. The target character cannot move this turn.) Self Destruct 40 (When this character is defeated, each adjacent character takes 40 damage)
Force Powers Force 3. Force Renewal 1 Battle Meditation (Force 2, replaces attacks: For the rest of the skirmish, this character gains the following commander effect: Allies who combine fire grant an additional +2 Attack, and enemy characters cannot combine fire) Force Lightning 4 (Force 4, replaces attacks: range 6; 50 damage to target. Huge or smaller characters are considered activated this round; save 16)
Commander Effect: Whenever an adjacent follower makes an attack that benefits from combined fire, damage from that attack cannot be prevented or redirected.
Flavor text???

Stats look good
Flavor Text:
"Together we will teach the galaxy what it means to serve the Jedi."
"I serve no Emperor. My power is for myself alone."
This insane clone of Jorus C'baoth served under Grand Admiral Thrawn and had a knack for mind control

Oh, this isn't actually the Outbound Flight guy. Huh. That little "u" got past me completely.

Any thoughts on this guy? I think he looks okay...

We need to streamline him in some way. He clocks in at over 900 characters, which I believe will be a problem on the card.
Unless we chance him significantly, he probably won't have flavor text, so I think we can skip it for now.

The only ways I see to streamline him would be to remove SD 40, Dominate, or Battle Meditation. All of them fit, but SD 40, while fun and accurate, could be dropped (IMO). BM fits him well and has good synergy with his CE, and removing Dominate would alter his cost drastically.
