Don't know if anyone has been on WotC or SWMGamers today, but the setlist of Masters of the Force is available. Looks like it's a good thing we've been working with 22 pieces (and that Gryph was Old Republic rather than Fringe): Lord Hoth and Ganner Rhysode are both in MotF.
To my way of thinking, that means that Watto and the yammosk move up to A-team pieces, leaving us with a solid 20 (with 17 of them finalized).
On the upside, with the set also including a Toydarian Soldier and a bunch of big, lumpy creatures, I think slicing up customs for Watto and the yammosk just got a whole lot easier!

*SPOILERS* Judging by the latest MOTF news, so much for Ganner and Lord Hoth... We've done too much work on them to kick them out now, but I guess it means we now have a deadline to keep the L in TNLT... EDIT: Gwek beat me to it

Well, do we just want to keep Hoth and Ganner in, or should we just have them as "extras"? It seems that the second option (like gwek said) would work fine, and still give us 20 unmade pieces.

on the one hand I'm glad they're getting made, I'm curious how close we got to the actual figure though.

Ya, it will be very interesting to compare...

Based on the MotF previews that are coming out, the Toydarian Soldier has a "Strong-Willed" ability similar to Watto's "Mental Resistance."
Do we want to change it in ours? (My personal inclination is toward yes).

I would say ours is better. But we might as well; one less custom ability, and they provide basically the same thing ('flavour').

Do we think we could consolidate TLT and bring over the figs that have been made and need to be made from the wizard's site? Since it seems we may need to make the figures ourselves (or make the paper cut outs) and will need to make the cards as well.

I think cards are quite doable right now; the problem is the pic, and I'm not trying to be funny, believe it or not.
Many customizers will only use a pic matching a mini and its pose and vice versa; make the pose matching the pic.
I think we can do almost all the cards pretty much immediately; its just a question of what we're willing to do? Card first? Use whatvever pic? Which card template/font? Heck, half the characters we've done have already been done somewhere by somebody.
Has the group even dragged this out for discussion? I was still on "sabbatitcal" when this set was started.

I really would like to see sketches for the cards, like WotC and TLT, it just looks so much more SWM-esque. If we can't get that, then we should at least try to find a picture with a similar pose to the custom (or make a custom that matches a picture, if it is simple enough).

Do we have someone who is skilled enough to put together professional-level cards?
If we do, I think the cardmaker should get to work immediately! We should gets the stats on the card, and worry about the pics as we go.
We've dragged our feet for weeks on what to do next. I think we need to get moving, or we might as well just consider this project dead in the water.
My recommendation is this:
--We use the new 40-piece template.
--We get a card customizer working to put stats in place IMMEDIATELY.
--Simultaneously, we start looking for appropriate art OR start looking for appropriate artists to place art on those cards once we get the stats in place.
--Again, simultaneously, mini modders get back to work! I think we had 3-4 pieces done, and then the process ground to a halt.
--I think we also need to set a deadline for when we want to do things, otherwise, it's going to be 2012 before we produce a blessed thing.

Well, as I've suggested before, we could input our ideas for the upcoming VSet that will be released in the fall. The setlist is being made up soon, and I really think these pieces (or at least some of them) deserve to be official. If that takes off, we won't have to worry as much about doing all these "foreign" jobs ourselves, as we will have help from a much larger group.

RS, those guys already have their own group, their own work, and their own ideas.
This is OUR project, not theirs. We need an agenda or our own... an agenda that does not involve dragging our heels, or saying "Well, let's wait until next season and see how things go..."
When this project started, I was concerned that we had no clear leadership and although there have been a few times when I think leadership would have been helpful, I think we're really seeing the effects now.
I call for a vote of no confidence in our lack of leadership!
WE NEED A PLAN!!!

RS, those guys already have their own group, their own work, and their own ideas. Ya, but they are the ones who can help make our work known. What good is our work if no one can play the pieces, especially when other customs are going to be useable in official play? It seems like a no brainer. While yes, we should have a plan, it would be foolish to not consider using them as "publishers" to spread our work around the community.

By all means, contact them. See if they're interested in working with us and helping us in any way.
But that communication should be done immediately, and we should also be moving ahead with our own plans in case they are not interested.
RS, can you contact the folk at SWMGamers this weekend and see if they have any interest in working with us?
With Tholme virtually approved, we're now at a stage where our stat creation is essentially done, so we need to move on to the next step (whatever it is) quickly, or we'll lose what little momentum we have.
