Use normal chess pieces on the swm miniature map and liberate them from a simple 8x8 game. Many have a game of chess and the pieces already so why not toss them into the game of star wars!
Here are some possible examples:
Pawn
Costs 2 points (not sure?)
Hp:10
Defense: 15
Attack: 0
Damage: 0
SA
This character may move only one square each turn.
Capture (this character may move onto a square occupied by a enemy, in doing so that character is now captured and removed from the game)
If a allied character is defeated you may make a save, upon a successful save of 11 or greater this character may replaces all of it's SA with the defeated character's SAs, current force points, attack, and damage as the character defeated.)
I'm a chess piece! (If this character is defeated instead of being captured the opposing character that defeated the pawn suffers a -12 defense penalty on the next allied attack against the character)
Knight
Costs (6?)
Hp: 50
Defense 15
Attack: 0
Damage: 0
SA
This character may move three squares a turn as a knight would on a chessboard by traditional rules.
Capture (this character may move onto a square occupied by a enemy, in doing so that character is now captured and removed from the game)
