In 2010, this board accomplished the New Lost Twenty with nothing but positive feedback. The question is, how is 2011 going to top that? I know I'm a couple hours early, but Happy New Year everyone!

Thanks for posting this, Dendrite. I look forward to working with everyone this year! Scared the kid off; didn't mean too Going back to the question of what next, perhaps a V-Set? No use doing another "Lost Twenty" if we can't do figures to go with them. I don't intend a competition with the Gamers, just alternatives to current mini's, either repurposed mini's or modernizing out of date pieces. Ideas Gentlemen?

I'm not saying I definitely want to do this, but let me throw out the idea of "Star Wars: Redemption" (which is a variation on a fairly common SWM customs idea).
It goes something like this:
We take 60 of the worst pieces from the original 60-piece sets--60 pieces that are complete, outdated crap--and we update them.
It's not as glamorous as a Lost Twenty, and it's kind of in line with what the folk at Gamers are doing, but, hey, it's an idea.

I have no problem with the idea, but I'd modify it by cutting the number downward from 60; even with the timeouts we all took for various reasons, it took us 6-8 months conservatively to do 20. Let's aim for 20-30 and see how long we take and go from there. Also, I see no reason to overlap Gamers; they've already remodifyed several pieces. We should avoid those and move on to others.

You're probably right about the number of pieces. On the other hand, unlike an LT, I was thinking of it more as fixing pieces than creating them from scratch, so we'd have a starting point. If someone can come up with a better idea, I'm all for it. If not, then maybe 2011 is "the Year of Redemption."

I seem to recall us talking about this sometime last year and we shelved it ... oh well, onwards. I looked at the first three sets, Rebel Storm, Clone Strike, and Revenge of the Sith; I see no reason to modify pieces like a Vader, Han, or Chewbacca ... their are numerous remakes and I think we'd be better served using our time on redoing pieces that truly need it. Do we want to stick to uniques or just any piece that could use a makeover? Ki-Adi has been redone, but Stass Allie and Agen Kolar could very easily be redone. There's a myriad number of thugs, fighters, and other fodder; I suggest we possibly redo some pieces that fill a niche, like the Iktochi Tech; maybe modernizing it in some ways. Also, would we want to turn any non-uniques into uniques? Turn the Devaronian BH into Vilmarh Grahrk as an example? Finally, I looked at the Gamers version of Ki-Adi and compared him to the original. Changes Cost +110 vs +90 HP +19 vs +18 Force 4 vs Force 3 New Powers Opportunist LtSaber Deflect LtSaber Sweep Modest changes and definitely not "fanboy" packed with everything plus the kitchen sink. I think this is doable ...... PS Since I'm on vacation till Monday, I did this in 5 minutes; minimal changes, but possibly making this piece more usable? By just giving her +90 instead of +60 HP (as a Council Member should have,) upping her D from +16 to +18, taking a Force Point away but Giving here Renewal 2 to allow possible multiple Healings and giving her Lightsaber Defense reflecting her ability to survive at Geonosis, Stass becomes more usable and her cost of 30 instead of 22 within tolerable limits. Not a perfected piece but for 5 minutes work? I think we could definitely do this ... PPS - Can you tell I still have three days left on a vacation?
