Here's the version we're currently play-testing. I like that you can't play Ko Sai for 1/2 the cost of a Wicket now. And 15 points is close to the value of the Leia, so... I'm still trying to figure out how to prevent someone from playing a cheap Vader for Ko Sai's cost while "cloning" an expensive Vader, or something along those lines. It may not be worth the hassle of hammering it out, but it feels incomplete. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Hmm. I can't think of any (simple) way to word it like that, so it'll have to go without it, at least for now. This finalized version looks pretty good, though it just seems like you could give the character a cost of 15 rather than X, and then word the ability so that her cost only changes to half the value of the Unique the ability is used on if it is greater than 15. Just another way of wording things.
I've been thinking about some of the potentially abusive combos that may not have been mentioned yet (at least here), so here are some:
-playing BOTH Thrawns, for double swap and big stat boosts -two Yoda on Kybucks or two or more AniSTAPs -multiple Lobot CLOs, meaning if you manage an 11 for your init roll you could get over a hundred points of reserves -multiple UH Lobots, with enough of them you can see your opponent's squad first and then bring in say 100 points of pieces that will directly counter that squad. Still leaves over 50 points for pieces like IE Thrawn or General Rieekan

What about limiting the clones to 2?

What about limiting the clones to 2? That would solve a lot of problems. It's really the cheaper characters that are abusable (Wicket, the Lobots, Imperial Governor Tarkin, etc.) because one could play a half dozen or more of then at a time. Limiting the clones to just two would still make it dangerous, but more so with better attacking pieces, like Captain Rex, than with tech pieces, like the Lobots.

So maybe something like
"...may ignore Unique one time for the purposes of squad building."
or
"...may ignore Unique in one instance for the purposes of squad building."
or
"...may ignore Unique once for the purposes of squad building."

Alternatively, you could word the ability like this: During setup, choose one living character in your squad ; your squad may include a second character of the name, ignoring Unique; this character's point cost X is 1/2 the printed cost of the chosen character or 15 points, whichever is higher Though this one implies that the the characters would have to have the exact same name (so two DV, JH but not a DV, JH and a DV, SotJ), which probably isn't what you were going for with the ability.
