I believe these are the current stats. We're looking to finalize him on July 9th. Is there anything that would prevent that?
Watto Faction: Fringe Cost: 13 Hit Points: 30 Defense: 13 Attack: 0 Damage: 0
Unique Flight (Ignores difficult terrain, enemy characters, low objects, and pits when moving) Repair Supplies (Replaces Turn. Choose one adjacent ally to gain Repair 10 for the rest of the skirmish) Salvager (Whenever a non-Unique Droid ally within 6 squares would be defeated, with a save of 16, it instead immediately returns to play with 10 Hit Points.) Strong Willed (Cannot be affected by Jedi Mind Trick)

Unless we get any disagreement before next Friday, Watto will be officially re-approved next week.

Alright, I know that I don't come on much anymore, but still I would like to disagree with the decision of putting "Strong Willed" on this character. I liked the original idea of "Mental Resistance" instead because it provides more than just Jedi Mind Trick because not many people have it. Anyway, just my 2 cents

This used to be Strong-Minded (This character cannot be activated by enemy Force powers) Then it was switched to Mental Resistance (this character cannot be activated by enemy force powers) before the current Strong Willed (Cannot be affected by Jedi Mind Trick) Mid Decemeber darthgrievous suggested Also strong minded is definately not a good name, but he is definately immune to jedi mind tricks so we should include it or he wont be fun at all. In deferance to Master Skywalker, is this something we want to revisit? I was busy last December and wasn't around for the original discussion and I Do see his point about JMT isn't that prevelent so expand it back out to the "Mental Resistance" version?

Strong Willed is an official WotC ability, on the Toydarian Soldier. Once they made it official, we switched to what they had.

Strong Willed is an official WotC ability, on the Toydarian Soldier. Once they made it official, we switched to what they had. We may be speaking apples/oranges here. We understand WOTC gave us Strong Willed; MS liked the other idea, reasoning JMT isn't seen much and Mental Resistance is a little more encompassing. Shall we keep it simple and WOTC-like or expand it out a bit as MS suggested? I can go either way; I just wanted to look at the real question.

To be honest, I like the older version of Mental Resistance that we had, but with Strong Willed from WotC, it doesn't make any sense (in my opinion) to make a new ability that does nearly the same thing.
Also, what additions did Mental Resistance have compared to Strong Willed? Off the top of my head, it would defend Watto from Force Stun and Sith Sorcery (there may be others). Obviously Watto could withstand a JMT. Force Stun really isn't the same thing, in that it deadens the senses and perceptions of the victim rather than make the victim think whatever the caster wanted. Theoretically, Watto may be able to stand up to a Force Stun. But could he stand up to Sith Sorcery? Likely not, but obviously there is no evidence either way. Mental Resistance would also help against some of the more powerful Lightnings/Repulses (if Watto somehow survives), but that's more of a loop-hole.
Really, both abilities only provide flavour, rather than actual game play benefits. They may come up once every now and then, but generally they just make the piece 'feel' more unique than similar pieces. I don't think we should go out of our way to create an ability for 'flavour', when we have a nearly identical ability that already provides the needed 'flavour'.

Surf: I misunderstood when the question was being asked originally.
I agree with everything that BH has said.
No need to create a custom when the actual ability already exists.

Further Opinions gentlemen?
