Hmm okay. I'm going to go back and look at some of your characters in FotR, I really like what you do with the big beats. Your CotLs might help me with ideas for my next set.

The thing to remember with the big beats is not to make them big beats. Sure, they can be powerful, but they shouldn't be able to dish out 120 damage in one turn without Crits. Make them clean, not clumsy. No GMA, or anything like that. I generally only use a few abilities for beats; most of their custom abilities are Force Powers. A tip to consider when making beats is to create an ability that fits them - Strong with the Light, Jedi's Rage, Lightsaber Hurl - in other words, an ability that really sets them apart.

Yeah. I hate to put GMA on 60+ beats (I think I've done it once, with a 100 point Revan) because it just feels so broken. I like them to run up to someone, and then either force them to take that AoO or take a malicious beating. I generally like giving them some mobility, like Lightsaber Assault, or a ranged Force power to combine with their powerful melee attacks. I might use a variant of LS Hurl on one of my older Vaders (something along the lines of LS Throw but with built-in Overwhelming Force on that attack, or something).

Yes, Assault (and a new FP from LaD, Lightsaber Thrust) are good choices if you're two squares too far away, or something.

Lightsaber Thrust? Cool. I like the sound of that. This gives me an idea for a new LS-based FP. Depending on how your LS Thrust works.

I'll just post it:
Lightsaber Thrust: (Force 1, replaces attacks: This character may make an attack against an enemy up to three squares away)
This, naturally, prevents the GMA method of running in six squares, attacking, then running again. It's especially annoying with Force point boosts, where you can move 14 instead of 12 squares in a turn, then they're always one square away. You can never attack. This is just one of those abilities to add some more mobility to pieces.

Cool. So would this move the character adjacent to the target as well, or just be a toned-down version of LS Throw?

It's toned down, but with the same attack value. It also costs less.

Huh. Interesting. I think I'll post my LS ideas here:
Lightsaber Stab (Force 1: This character gets +10 damage on its next attack. Damage from this attack cannot be prevented or redirected)
-Basically what LS Precision should have been. Not sure who I'll use it on, but I could just throw it on one of the Jedi or the Vader.
Lightsaber XXXXXX 2 <<still trying to think of a name>> (Force 2, replaces turn: Choose one target enemy within range 6. Make 2 attacks against that target. Damage from these attacks cannot be prevented or redirected)
-Designed for the 24 Defense Vader.

Yeah, I might have to steal that. It's a nice ability, very balanced.
Maybe even Power Attack. Or Master Flurry. That'd fit on the Vader. Of course, now you have to come up with a name for said Vader.

Whoops, modded it. It should not replace attacks. Lol.
I have an idea for a Power Attack too. I've already used Master Flurry (Revan, Jedi Guardian). Since it's basically Lightsaber Throw 2 + Overwhelming Force, at first I was thinking Overwhelming Throw, no LS Toss, no LS Chuck, no...Are there any other words for Throw? Idk.
You know what I'm going to name the Vader? Darth Vader, Pinnacle of Darkness. Lol, jk. That sounds like a name for one of the Reborn Plapatine's superweapons.

Lol. Right. Darth Vader, Sun Crusher. Lol.

Hmm. Maybe Lightsaber Twirl. Nah. That's something I would give to like Darth Talon or something. Gah. There's nothing. Time to search the web. Here's some okay ones:
Cast, lob.
Wow. That's it.
Lol. Yeah. Darth Vader, Threat to the Galaxy. Hmm that's actually not that bad. Darth Vader, Scourge of the Galaxy. Not bad either.

Lightsaber Lob...LL=fail.
That's not terrible. Probably a 7/10. It's decent. You can have Darth Vader, Sith'ari - I dropped that suffix in favor of Dark Lord.

Yeah. I would use SotG if it wasn't so similar to Scourge of the Jedi.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Hmm. I'll use that as my backup, if we can't think of another name.
Maybe Overwhelming Lightsaber Throw? That's about all I can think of right now.
