Yeah that is true. However, he isn't near as good defensively as he is offensively. Slightly more HP (10 or 20 more at most) or even something like Thick Hide: (whenever this character takes damage, you may reduce the damage by 10 with a save of 11) probably wouldn't raise his cost too much. He only gets one attack he could fall victim to a swarm of lesser characters who could surround him and ware him down while he can only take out one per round. I think slightly more HP or a damage reducing ability would make him worth 50 points, or at most 55. Just some suggestions.

Perhaps, give him Dark Armor? It seems unusual, but it is the same as your tough hide ability (mostly).

It is, but Thick Hide (which was just something I came up with on the spot) would also effect characters who use lightsabers. It would probably be more like Vonduun Crab Armor 11 in that way. I don't remember if the Bull Rancor was particularily resilient to lightsabers, though. Now that I look at it I think it is identical to Vonduun Crab Armor 11. Perhaps that would work better? Or give Thick Hide a rewording that would make it different from the crab armor? You could give him Dark Armor, as it is your piece, but as you said it is quite unusual. Your call.

This is what we're currently looking at: Bull Rancor (50) HugeHP: 140 Def: 20 Atk: +13 Dmg: 40 Special AbilitiesUnique Melee Attack; Melee Reach 2 Speed 8 Stable Footing Mighty Swing +10 Charging Assault +20 Regeneration 10 Savage And the suggested changes are to add some form of a DR ability.

I would suggest dropping the defense a point and adding in DR 10. For some reason, I'm not feeling it with Mighty Swing. It just feels to direct for the Rancor. A small army of Bomas or Gundarks or Rakghouls could wear this beast down pretty fast, while he can only take out a maximum of one per turn. I think giving him Double in place of Mighty Swing and giving him base 30 damage would make the character better, maybe with -1 attack.
Another option would be to use the Alpha Predator ability I came up with for my Zakkeg, if you're interested.
