The way I see it we can either of the opinions listed below or a blend of the two.
Opinion 1 Modify just a few uniques and un/commons that are overpriced. Create new verisons of classic characters. Avoid characters like the rebel trooper or characters most likely to be affected by wizards and new CEs.
Opinion 2 Use the ideas wizards has created just as a base. Change the rule, perhaps even create a new simple rulebook. Redefine what a 'high defense' of a character would be and redefine cost scales. Each new set would have to be readjusted to fit our scale. This would give SWM gamers a different opinion of stats to use. Kind of like what the USFL in comparison to the NFL.

I don't know if I'd use the word "most" in the second poll option. I think most would just be too much. I'd say a "some" or a "moderate number"

I think the best thing to do would be to work on the characters that see little to no play over other minis, and those who have little to no support. Characters like the Nikto Soldier, Klatoonian Enforcer, Bothan Spy, Nute Gunray. The minis that are really poor. (I would suggest taking the ratings from BlooMilk and using them to determine what is considered poor.)

The Bloomilk rating is an excellent idea. It would allow you to set a benchmark of "it must be this crappy for us to consider.
For example, if you look at only those with a rating of <5.00, you've got 100+ minis to consider!
It might also be worth looking at the ratings by factions, since many of the smaller factions have few (or no) pieces rating very low. Again, using 5.00 as a benchmark, the Sith and Old Rep have 1 each, and the NR, Vong, and Mandos have NONE.

An interesting idea from the other thread was this; what if we 'choose' 50 Uniques or so to redo, while keeping them in line with the WotC concepts?

I recommended a project to fix/change wizards stats because it would be a project with a ends and a set goal. Two things this site really needs at this time. Plus, if done well enough, the miniatures have the potential to get more use since a lot of people already own the figs.
About 50-100 unquies and uncommons/common sounds like a good idea for a mini project.
Nonetheless, I think it would be very interesting to see a complete redo of the SWM universal. Imagine making the Rancor cost 90. Giving everyone a unquie and different feel. Adding new/different rules; some from different miniature games. And all in all creating a slightly different version of swm.

just saying, the project is up to the members of the site. i doubt I'll take a large role in it regardless of what way it goes.

What do people think?

Personally, I think it's a bad idea (why try to fix WotC's mistakes when we can instead be making our own characters?)... But I'm sure I'll comment on lots of threads anyway if it gets up and running.
