I'd caution against two Squad abilities. Kinda too many eggs in one basket.

I would agree with that, but I think a squad ability is defiantley in order.
Perhaps squad firepower or squad defense.
They either become heavy hitters, or a highly defensive unit. Other than that, I like where it is heading.

Well, ok then. I'll drop Squad Assault.

Seems okay (although tough to fully determine without the related commander effects, such as Vaklu).

Well, I don't have a Vaklu yet, but I plan on making one soon.

What do we want to do? Leave him until Vaklu comes around?

Don't know.
Sharrakor, how many different other Onderon pieces are you planning? And how many are Sith vs Old Rep?

Hmm going back to the OP it looks good, if boring. If you wanted to, you could up the cost (to about 9) and give them this ability:
Squad Tactics (+4 attack, +4 defense, and +10 damage while three other allies with the same name as this character are within 6 squares)
Obviously, it's very powerful, bumping the soldiers up to 18 def, 8 attack and 20 damage. Pretty good for the 9 point cost you would have to pay, but you have to have at least 4 of them in the squad, which I think balances it out.

AAAUUUGGGHHH!! That's huge, BH. That would be really scary on a piece of this cost.
