How about I replace Light Tutor with something akin to Dark Inspiration, and a restriction to Jedi Historian (such as restriciting the selected ability to one that has a cost of 1 Force point).

I don't know, I still have issues with the idea of Light Tutor (or an analog) on a generic, and even if Jedi Historian is downgraded, it seems like something that, again, should be on a unique character (if used at all). Also, while I do get the leap from "Jedi Chronicler" to "I can use a wider array of Force powers," it seems a bit tenuous.
Gotta be honest, I think we're kind of grasping at straws here. I think it's a good idea that's difficult (if not impossible) to execute properly.

I still don't think we've gotten to the heart of what a chronicler/historian would do, especially in terms of tactical gameplay.
To be honest, when it comes right down to it, there are certain pieces and ideas that don't lend themselves well to a tactical/strategic combat simulator.

Dark Inspiration wasn't that good of an ability in the first place. I don't think it was, anyway...

It may be better on a non-Unique. And if we rename it to Light Inspiration, we can change the ability to something else, more widely useful than LS Duelist.

Maybe Evade/Lightsaber Deflect? Or a power like Force Absorb or Heal 20? I'm not exactly sure what would fit here.

Lightsaber Deflect is always pretty safe. The older Jedi should be retro-fitted with it anyway.

What do others think of Light Inspiration giving an ally with a Force rating Lightsaber Deflect? I think it sounds pretty cool.
