which gives the strike trooper 10 att and 40 damage for 13 points...but this guy is fairly fragile and the strike trooper has speed 4...so I think it balances out pretty well. Should we be expecting more GA stuff?

Aren't there a whole gaggle of Rebel troopers who can be brought in through Affinity? Might want to take a look at some of those options to make sure there's nothing scary happening.

Well, no Rebel Troopers have access to Opportunist, nor do any of them actually have it (as far as I recall).

Here's my potential concern: via Garm Bel Iblis, Rebel and New Republic troops can intermingle. Port this guy over to the Rebels, for example, and he gan give Cunning Attack to a number of pieces with 30 damage (and the Atgar, which has Triple Attack). That stacks with the Hoth Trooper Officer's Deadeye commander effect, and a few other effects that make them pretty fearsome already.
Probably not a major cause for concern, but I wanted to bring it up for consideration.
Also, what's the ruling on Han Solo in Stormtrooper Armor? Do CEs for troopers affect him?

Yeah I guess they do (as he has Trooper in his name). However the CE'd need to affect Trooper allies (as you probably already know).

But is it any worse than Jabba, CL's CE? Especially when he has access to characters that can gain/have Opportunist? Or a number of other abilities?

I don't find the Cunning Opportunist possibility particularly troubling, especially since there are only a handful of pieces who can achieve it, and the abilities are largely built into the cost.
In this case, I wanted to point out to people that we need to consider the synergy with Rebel troopers (who offer a greater range of options than New Republic troopers). Abusive? Probably not, but definitely something to keep in mind.

I think it's fine. The Rebel's troopers are very poor anyway, and it's just Cunning. It's not like it's Double/Twin, Shields 2 and Disintegration. This guy's fragile enough that he can be taken out easily, to.
