So his normal force jumps from Force X to Force X+1 or he just gets an automatic FP? Either way, it doesn't make any sense. What is the advantage of bumping Jacens starting force? (If that is what you intended) If it automatically gives a FP, that speeds up FR to much IMHO. Maybe it should say:
Mentor (An allied character within 6 squares whose name contains Jacen Solo gains +4 Attack and FR1.)
That way, if he doesn't have FR now he does and if he does he still gets the +Atk bonus.

Mentor just gives a basic extra Force point. One only, and no more. Its similar to Luke, JM's CE or Light Tutor.

So that means that Mentor would only go off at the start of the game and only if this is within 6 of Jacen.

That's correct. And he loses it (I guess) if he isn't.

Yes...it's nice to see Anticipation on another piece. This is an interesting piece, Sharrakor, I like it. For once, it's actually a character I'm somewhat familiar with.

Another option would be to go the "what-if?" route and change Mentor to something similar to Light Tutor. Something like:
At the start of the skirmish, choose one ally with a Force rating. That ally agains +4 attack and 1 Force point.

Hmmm, perhaps I could make another ability to do that. I mean, I like Mentor as it is (not to mention I've already used it several times before, once as the basis of an interesting interaction).

I see where you're coming from, but I can't think of a single WotC special ability that only affects a single character. Like, Yoda of Dagobah's Light Tutor doesn't specify Luke Skywalker. Limiting a SA to a single character limits its usefulness a lot, and makes the piece as a whole (I'm speaking generally here) a lot less versatile. Mentor is something I could see on a Kreia, or a Yoda, or a Zhar, or any number of Jedi Masters/Sith Lords. Of course, it's up to you.
Wait, you've used Mentor several times before? So you have multiple characters that give Jacen Solo +4 attack and Force 1? Or does it affect different characters. You may see where I'm going with this if that's the case...

Ah right. Yeah Mentor is what I would call a "variable" ability because the glossary definition would be (An allied character within 6 squares whose name contains [Y] gains +4 Attack and 1 Force point), where [Y] would be specified on the card of the character who has it (in this case Jacen Solo).
Perhaps not entirely something that WotC would do, but there are similar abilities, such as Light Tutor, Affinity and Synergy.

Yeah, the only abilities I can think of like this are Synergy and Affinity. It's up to you, I'm just saying that it's kind of off. I mean, in a Vong, Sith, or Republic squad, it has absolutely no effect. Which is why I would suggest something more like Light Tutor or Dark Inspiration than Synergy or Affinity. Again, though it's your piece.
