I know it's been quite a while. First, I finally got around to putting the Next Lost Twenty into the custom pieces database on Bloomilk, so if that's you're kind of thing, you should be able to see our work there. I;ll probably post a message there to draw a little more attention two it. Second... As I said a while back, the first V-Set sort of took the steam out of my desire to fiddle with customs. For some reason, the spoilers about this second set are having the opposite effect. A thread on Bloomilk about what the lesser factions still need got me thinking about some of my old threads, including my aborted Balance of Power set and the "5 easy pieces" threads from the WotC forums (threads dedicated to trying to elevate each of the 4 lesser factions with only 5 pieces). Long story short, I'm thinking of reviving my Balance of Power set idea. Although I would like all 10 factions to be represented in some way, the main focus would be on the Old Rep, Sith, and Mandos, with a slightly lesser focus on the Seps (because I think they still need a little more help) and the Vong (because I just can't bring myself to care about them). We would examine both the WotC and V-Sets to get an idea for what's still missing. Could be tactic or commander effect that a faction desperate needs, or it could just be a character who has been overlooked for far too many sets. If you're interested in some of what I'm thinking, check out my posts in this thread (which also include links to some of the aforementioned threads on the WotC forums): www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=9478I'll admit that this set is a way for me to keep trying to perfect some of my "signature" pieces like Gryph and Darth Maladi, Hologram, and to try to finally get "the trooper defense" to work, but I think it can be a lot of fun. Anyone interested?

A better question would be is there anybody left; right off the bat, I hope you're not thinking of a 60 piece set.
1. Any theme in particular? 2. Are we making cards? I noticed GF has resurfaced and I'm alway willing. 3. Possibly revisit some one-off powers/abilities/CE's? Tarpals CE comes to mind. 4. Do we even have a core big enough to do this?
I check in on occassion; I've seen Jm occassionally, Den once in awhile, but BH hasn't been here for months .... has anybody seen him around on Blo or SWMG? Anyone new interested? Sound off!

A better question would be is there anybody left; right off the bat, I hope you're not thinking of a 60 piece set. Good question about people being left! I saw that the last post was from a month or so ago and thought "Either this will help revive things... or no one will know that I posted." I was thinking a 40-piece set (12/12/8/8). I mean, I could work on it alone, but I generally find it more fun to work with others. Sort of tough to sum up what I was thinking in once sentence, but I'm envisioning something that is an extension of both TNLT (eg, "Who/What hasn't been made yet but should have been?") and my old Balance of Power ("What can be done to help the minor factions?"), which was, itself, an extension of the 5 Easy Pieces threads ("How can we fix each minor faction using 5 pieces?") I'm envisioning a set where the Old Rep, Sith, and Mandos probably make up half the set list, and then more than half of what's left going to the Vong, Seps (who can still use a little help!), and Fringe. The Big Three (Rep, Rebs, Imps) would get token representation (1 or 2 pieces each). I like the idea of a 10-faction set. We would use both the WotC and V-Sets as canon, so while I think a lot of the ideas discussed in Balance of Power are probably still valid, they would need to be evaluated in light of the V-Sets. It will come as a surprise to no one who knows me that I envision the setlist as KotOR/SWtOR-heavy. I also think it would be fun to give consideration to the sources that haven't been particularly well-represented, especially more recent things like the second and third season of the Clone Wars (Embo? Savage Opress? Death Watch!) and comics (eg, Darth Maladi, maybe Kerra Holt...). Honestly, a lot of the setlist could probably be pulled from existing ideas like the TNLT and BoP, and looked at again in light of today's meta. I would love cards, but don't necessarily want to drag down the project for them. If we can do them, awesome! Yes, please. Good question. In my experience on various projects, three people working on a semi-regular basis is the minimum to keep things rolling. Five is much better. If we start (ie, get a few people here inerested, set up a sub-forum, etc), I figured I'd post on the other boards to try to generate some interest. Bueller?

I'd like to get back into customizing... as surf said, I haven't been at it for months. It would be nice to have something constructive to do with my time now that school is done for a couple months... my time is only punctuated by intermittent work, so time is plentiful. Doing something new and interesting with a 40 piece set sounds like a good idea to me. Are we up for it?

Welcome back BH. Things have quieted down so much here, Gw has moved his discussion here www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=9592BH, I'm sure you're more than welcome to join us there or if you want to convince Gw to come back here, give it a shot. I'm more than happy either way.

I've been checking in from time to time; my forum activity has decreased a bit.
I wish I knew I could contribute, but in about a month, I'll be off to college; not sure what my free time will consist of...

I'm new here and I just started customizing. However I would definitely like to help if you want any. I've been trying to help Mandalorians myself. I made a Bendak Starkiller a while back (who probably wouldn't help much but was pretty cool), but honestly the Mandalorians need some guys who cost less than 15-20 points. They really get outnumbered for activations. A commander should be considered who has an ozzell like CE so the the lack of grunts doesn't hurt them as much. And honestly, they shouldn't be as weak against Jedi. I know they lost to Revan in the Mando Wars, but they shouldn't be as defenseless against them. After all, they did kill a lot of Jedi and a guy like Yoda shouldn't be able to complete destroy just about every Mandalorian (save Mandalore) in like 2 turns.

I'm in too. This'd be fun - I was looking at my old custom sets, and some of that stuff is just artfully written.

We all seem to be surfacing one by one; perhaps we need to come to some agreement on perhaps where/when? Here or at Bloo, when I guess when we all chime in with opinions. I'm back from my one long Vacation, just a quickie trip or two left.
Ideas?

I know it's hard to comment on a bunch of pieces at once, so I don't love the format at bloomilk (although I DO like the option to create a custom set for the database once complete...).
If one of the admins could open up a sub-board for Balance of Power, I'd be happy. I'm not sure that I'd want a thread for each individual piece (since there will be 40), but definitely one for each faction.
I've been thinking a lot about some of my ideas, and I realize that based on DotF, some of the core concepts definitely need to be re-addressed. Perhaps doing so on a faction-by-faction basis makes sense?
If we get talking about the set I'm fiddling with, hopefully, everyone can start posting some of their new ideas soon!

Where do you want the board? Shall I just make you the moderator, too?

Maybe right smack between the TNLT and KotOR II sub-boards?
If you can make me mod for the sub-board, that would be great.
