Hey everyone! We're nearing the *sob* end of stat creation for this project. To be perfectly honest, I'm amazed at how far we've come. There's tons (seriously, tons) of other projects that have tried to do what we're doing and...they, well, epically failed. Anyway, on that inspirational note, we should probably start playtesting! I you don't have Vassal, click this link. I realize Vassal usually takes a while, and if you don't have chunks of time you can waste moving some pixels around, I understand. However, this is one of the most important parts of the custom-making process, and the more people we can get testing these minis, the better. Keep up the excellent work! -RoqueSaber

Has anyone had the opportunity to playtest yet?

Fardreamer and I actually accidentally ran into each other on Vassal, we're gonna try to get some dates to playtest soon.

In hindsight, we probably should have started this sooner. Yeah RS and I are going to give some of this stuff a workout, and we'll report back on our results. Peace

Now that WotC has included both Ganner Rhysode and Lord Hoth in Masters of the Force, are we going to scratch them? I haven't seen the WotC-stats yet, so perhaps yours are better, but still... NLT is a project to create the minis WotC forgot, right? Also, Alto Stratus has Bloodthirsty, but that should actually be Merciless 10. This way the description and the ability name don't match. Just a small detail, thought I'd let you know.

Bloodthirsty is a WotC special ability too (TCW Aqualish Warrior and GaW Aqualish Technician have it). Also, the definitions of Merciless Attack and Bloodthirsty are slightly different (the latter only provides the bonus on melee attacks). I don't think we would need to change it because MotF provides a similar (but better) ability.
I don't know what we're going to do with Hoth and Ganner, I believe what we planned on doing was including the 'bonus' characters in Hoth and Ganner's spots, and leaving Hoth and Ganner's stats as the bonus ones. I'm not sure if this was the complete plan that was formulated, however.

Indeed. Hoth and Ganner will be bonus characters. No need to change Bloodthirsty.

Well, fardreamer and I just tested out Joruus and he is an absolute beast, period. I used him with 6 stormies, Greivous KW, Dengar HK, Thrawn, and Dash. They obliterated Saba, Caedus, and Wedge (we stopped before they got to kill Ben).
His CE just makes even Stormies insanely powerful. I didn't even have to use Battle Meditation, they were already at a +12 with Thrawn, which is enough to hit most things often enough, and no Evade against it makes it very brutal. Dengar is off the charts. Instakill with no way to prevent it?
A couple fixes we thought of were:
*Make the CE only apply to followers when they are adjacent to Joruus. This either limits the attacker's firing LOS or puts Joruus closer to danger.
*Make the CE only affect Imperial followers. This limits his options a lot, the Imperial doesn't have access to a lot of powerful shooters in their faction.
*Make the CE only affect non-uniques. IMO, this won't help much as there are still tons of pieces that can abuse the CE.
*Bump his cost way up. I mean wayyy up. Probably in the 60+ point region if we want to keep it followers, range 6. The range 6 is especially killer because Mas can boost it.
Beyond his CE, Renewal 2 with Lightning 4 is very nasty. I was able to pull it off twice in our...3? round match. Maybe a starting force of 3 or 4 with Renewal 1 would be better. --------------------- Well, there you have it. Discuss away!

I would be fine with changing the CE to the adjacent restriction, though I like the FR2/Force Lightning 4 combo.
How did Saba play?

Saba was killed before she could even attack. That's how brutal Joruus was. Renewal 2 with Lightning is cool, but it's just way too powerful. It's like squads that have VAU with Palps on Throne (or even RS Palps), but all in one piece for less points. Joruus provides enough pseudo-direct damage from his CE, pulling off Lightning so often is just too much.

In the EU, Saba is a beast (No species pun intended) and she should be able to hold her own against all but the most powerful, and I don't include Joruus in that group .... Hmmmmm.

Saba got hit by Lightning, Quadded by Dash, and then Final Shot OHKO'd by Dengar. Part of it was fardreamer's playing (no offense intended). She probably could have lasted another round or more, but she got rushed straight into my front lines, just asking to be shot up.
