I find there's always a bit of a danger in using video games as a direct source, especially when other sources are available. (For example, compare Vader at the end of TFU to Vader in the movies--no comparison at all in fighting style!).
The Big Bad at the end of the game has to be impressive to create a satisfying video game. The trick is in finding the balance between the "game version" and the "real version."
Again, not saying he shouldn't have it, but this is an observation from working on various KotOR sets. Perhaps Parry would be more appropriate?
I will say this, though: he has a VERY nice range of direct-damage Force powers, so if we also give him excellent melee capabilities, that needs to be factored in.
Add in a solid commander effect and he's shaping up to be one of the most well-rounded, "best in class" Imperial pieces... Not a bad thing, but I'm not so sure that Jerec deserves that spot.

I agree that video games are usually one of the worst places to look when making a piece *cough*allpowerfulDarthRevan*cough*. I honestly still like DoF, even if Daala does end up having it (will have to go check her thread). I think 51 would be a good spot for him. He's a lot like Vader, Unleashed. Good stats (a tad lower) some sweet force powers, and then Jerec has a CE. I don't really see what's wrong with the CE, but if we want to change it, why not.

Here's some CE ideas:
CE: Followers with a Force Rating gain Quick Reactions and Cunning Attack
CE: Your squad may include Non-unique Sith characters with a force rating
CE: Followers with a Force Rating within 6 squares gain Ambush
CE: Followers with a Force Rating gain Double Attack
CE: Followers with a Force Rating within 6 sqaures gain Twin Attack
CE: A follower within 6 squares with a force rating that is hit by a melee attack gains +4 defense for the rest of the round

Here's my opinions of the CE's in order as posted above:
No
No
Possible
If anything, should be changed to Extra
Woa!
Complex
Extra Attack to followers with a force rating is interesting, though very deadly and would probably make his cost shoot up a bit. Imagine Vader, SotJ with Triple Attack or Vader, JH with Quad! Scary... Of course, we could also limit in to non-uniques. Then the scariest thing you can do is play Jerec with a Felcor or some Jensaari (ESG's would become much better as well).

Personally, I think it may be possible to stat Daala without DoF. My concern with the CE is only that he seems to work with "unique" Force-users (ie, a small, named group) rather than "non-uniques" (a larger group of faceless folk).

We easily tack on "unique" or "non-unique" to any of them as seen fit

So maybe have the CE only affect uniques, that would be an interesting twist. But then we would have to make sure that it isn't too powerful as to boost them to obscene levels.

Agreed. I think I may like unique allies with a Force rating start with +1 FP... but we need to look at who that impacts to see if there's any abuse.

I wouldn't think there would be abuse. Anyone who ca be in a squad with Jerec can be in a squad with Emperor Palpatine on Throne, who offers even more Force Points than Jerec.

Mainly gotta look at Vaders. Also:
Cade, BH Kreia Vaders Apprentice
not too bad.

We actually discussed changing the CE to affect all followers, not just non-Unique at one point. I think Unique would fit better, though. As has already been mentioned, Palps on Throne does what Jerec does much better, so I don't think there's an abuse issue.

So do we want to change the commander effect to the following and call it a day?
Each Unique ally with a Force rating starts with +1 Force.

Sounds good to me. Was it yes or no for Lightsaber Duelist (I do, now, understand why it would be no) and what would be an appropriate cost?
