Seriously? I'd be okay with him if he costed 87.
Gimmicks are what makes a piece fun. Look at the CotLs (my usual examples) - they have sort of gimmicky abilities which fit the piece, and add depth.

Yeah, me too. I don't think 55 with SSM and FR is possible, and then throw in the best CE in the game...well we've heard this dozens of times before.
Yeah. A Unique piece should have a good mix of solid abilities and gimmicks. Non-Uniques should either have a couple gimmicking abilities that work well with each other or just have solid abilities. Having to limit non-Uniques to such low standards may be another reason that they are more difficult to make than Uniques.

Lol. Yes, yes we have.
Exactly. Non-Uniques can't have fun SAs like Pheromones or Regeneration because they won't be balanced. You even have to watch the number of attacks they have per turn, lest they get Triple Twin from some combo of CEs.

True. So many CEs...at least you don't have to worry about it as much with OR and Sith characters. But the Fringe pieces are crazy.

Lol. Is that why you only have 1 set with Fringe characters? Which are mostly Rakatans anyway? Lol.

Exactly. Because they're so hard to stat with all the possible combos.

Lol. All my sets have a lot of Fringe characters, both because there are so many of them and because it's easier to come up with Fringe non-Uniques than non-Uniques that actually belong to a faction.

There's something I'd disagree with you about - I'd say it's significantly harder to do the Fringe non-uniques than faction non-uniques, because you have to look at all the combos in Fringe, easily the largest faction, and the combos in every other faction, because they can become a part of every other faction, which is a unique ability of the Fringe.

That is true, but it's usually much easier to come up with ideas for Fringe non-Uniques. I don't mind having to think of all the possible combinations because I usually look to one or two WotC pieces for similarities or precedents. Or just guess with the cost. It usually works.

More on-topic, what do you think of the Uggie Miner?

On topic? What?
Nothing particularly worrisome. Cunning Attack is interesting...

Yeah. I dislike its lack of synergy with King Ozz, though, so I'm thinking of changing the second part of his CE (that gives Mines 10) to something more creative. I might change him up a bit more, adding in a special ability that gives Uggies something else. Any thoughts?

Maybe Door Control? But that might make Uggies too powerful.
