Darth Vader, Sith'ari

Another heavy hitter from Fall of the Republic, this is my ultimate representation of Vader. He is designed to be the perfect Sith, and has an unprecedented Defense of 24, as well as some nasty FP's, but he pays for it in cost. His signature Force Grip is there, as well as a different version of Lightsaber Throw, to represent his attack on Luke on the second Death Star. He's bound to be controversial, so discuss away.

Dark Armor (Whenever this character takes damage, he reduces the damage dealt by 10 with a save of 11. Attacks with lightsabers ignore this special ability.)
Immediate Stormtrooper Reserves: (If you roll exactly 20 for initiative, you may add up to 20 points of characters named Stormtrooper to your squad immediately before the first activation of the round)

Whirlwind Attack: (Force 1: This character may attack each adjacent enemy twice)
Lightsaber Reflect (Force 2: When hit by a nonmelee attack, this character takes no damage with a save of 11 and the attacker takes damage equal to the prevented damage; save 11)
Lightsaber Hurl (Force 1; replaces attacks; range 6; 20 Damage to target and 10 damage to adjacent characters, save 11)
Master Force Grip (Force 2, replaces attacks; sight; 20 damage, and target is considered activated. As long as this character has line of sight of the target, he may spend 1 additional Force Point. If he does, the target is considered activated and takes 20 damage, save 11. This move replaces this character's attacks)

Commander Effect:
Trooper followers gain Squad Firepower: (+10 Damage while 3 allies with the same name as this character are within 6 squares)

Imperial Reserves 20 is also found on WotC's Admiral Ozzel. Instead of having to roll a 20 for initiative, the number is 6. Not a problem, I just thought I would point that out.

As he is now, i really don't think he is worth 82 points. Comparing him to Bane, they are pretty similar, but Bane, with Lightsaber Assault, Jedi Hunter, and Sith Rage is probably better. I would suggest changing Djem So Style to Djem So Mastery (like on GMLS) and changing Reflect to the same as the new Vader's from IE. That may up his cost slightly, maybe to 84. What do you think?

Oh, right, Vader does 20 damage on Reflect? And I need that definition on Djem So Mastery, as I don't have GMLS.

This is actually the second time this piece when through Stat Creation, but I thought he needed an update. Fuzz and I thought Master Force Grip was fine, but what do you thinl?

How does that look for him?

I think that Master Force Grip is a great representation of Grip. I have a question though: when you spend a FP a second (or third or however many times) time, would it replace Vader's turn if the opponent succeeds on the save? If it does, I would suggest changing it to a save of 13.

No, it doesn't replace turn, only attacks. And 20 Damage stacks up quickly. And if the opponent succeeds, then Vader can attack and move, etc, minus 1 FP - the FP that powered the attack that the opponent avoided. The save of 11 is to allow the opponent - who is probably a major player in the opposing squad (you wouldn't Force choke a Rebel Trooper), it's to allow the character to eventually escape.

Okay that makes sense, I only thought it should be 13 if it replaced turn. Looks good otherwise.

24 Defense might have bothered me if he had Dark Armor or Lightsaber Duelist, but for an 80+ point piece I think that its alright.

Yeah, I was considering Dark Armor, but you don't think he needs it? I specifically didn't give him LD for that reason.

I don't think he needs either, but if you did decide to give him either it would probably bump his cost up to 90.

He deserves Dark Armor. I mean comon, he's Darth Vader.

Reservers seems very unnecessary on him, very tacked on. I think Lightsaber Hurl is a little too much of "direct damage". Perhaps making it where he attacks as normal, but if the attack hits, each adjacent character also takes the damage, save 11.

The CE also seems a little odd. This is him as the Sith'ari, not a commander.

While Darth Vader is probably the most deserving of all characters to have Dark Armor, he does have 24 Defense, which I think could show how protective his armor is. I think it would be fine if he had it, but his cost may jump up to 90, with the synergy Dark Armor would have with his very high Defense, high HPs, Djem So Mastery, and Reflect.

Also, he does have a lot of Force powers. Is Riposte really neccessary if he has Djem So?

Actually, I really like the Dark Armor concept. 23 Defense and Dark Armor has been done before, on Vader JH. Should we just do that? That seems nice and balanced. Dark Armor and 24 Defense could be cool too, and I'd be okay with a 90 pt piece. Which way is better?

On Saber Hurl, I could make it Force 2, which would allow for some more direct damage. I kinda like the Reserves, but if it doesn't fit, then we can dump it. As for the CE, I couldn't really think of a good one - maybe giving Troopers Squad Assault would be better.

I for one would rather see him at 90 points with 24 Defense and Dark Armor than a slightly lower cost with 23 Defense and Dark Armor, just because he would be very similar to Vader, Jedi Hunter if he had 23 Defense. It is your piece though, and I'm fine with whatever way you choose to go with it.

I like Lightsaber Hurl with 2 Force and direct damage, making it more like Flamethrower or Grenades than Lightsaber Throw, but still similar to it.

I have noe idea what to do with the CE, you could make it represent his unwillingness to accept failure (like on Darth Vader, Champion of the Sith, or Darth Vader, Dark Jedi), or you could go the supreme commander route with a very useful stat boost or ability (like on Darth Vader, Imperial Commander or Darth Vader, Legacy of the Force). I think either could work well, but I think that the first one would fit the Sith'ari theme more. What do you think?

Well, I want this to be a multi-role Vader - sort of like WotC's Revan, but not a complete failure. I'll put up Dark Armor, and I think I'll change the CE to Squad Assault.
