Looks pretty good, simple and similar to the WotC figure, but probably better. Can't think of any suggestions here.

But is it too useful compared to Wizards' version? Is their version still effective?

I think the easiest way to make an upgrade of WotC's piece without deeming it unplayble is to make the new version more expensive. It makes the old version better when you're in a tight squeeze for points, but allows the new one to still be tough. I'd pump it up to about mid 30's, about the par of some of the above average Jedi (Quinlan, Qui-Gon, etc) Maybe bump his force up to 3, increase lightning to normal levels, and give him parry. That with a slight stat boost would make him very playable, without making the original a piece of scrap (even though it isn't that stellar to begin with...)

Those are some good points. Increased Force and more powerful Lightning sound like a place to change this piece up from the WotC piece (with Force 1 and only Lightsaber Block). I don't know about Parry, it could be abused with Stealth, but maybe not.

Are you sure? Remember that this guy is a non-Unique, and I'd like him to remain a non-Unique.

Do you mean by this that you don't want him to become too powerful? You could just give him an extra Force point if you don't want him to become too powerful.

True, Parry with Stealth could be abused. Sharrakor, it can stay a non-unique, but just be expensive, like the Felcor and SHAD.

Well, still I'm not sure. The higher costing characters are generally either Savage or Droid. I think I'd prefer not to break that precedence unless absolutely necessary.

Well, there's not much of a gap to fill. It can't be too close to 23, and you don't want it too high. It seems like the logical choice would be mid 30's

What if I were to remove an ability? Double Attack, perhaps? Stealth?

No, the ESG is way too weak b/c it doesn't have double. Maybe give him Rapport with Shadow Stormtrooper (since they were usually with him in the game) and give him Immediate Shadow Stormtrooper Reserves 2 (If you roll exactly 5, 10, 15, or 20 for initiative, immediately place 2 SS's adjacent to this character before your first activation of the round)
And make him a bit more defensive. This will make him useable for his ability to bring in SS's, but will also keep the other slightly useable b/c of it's more offensive powers (Deadly, Cunning)

Immediate Shadow Trooper Reserves sounds like a great idea, but it could send his cost up into the 30s.
If we would like to make him more defensive, the only thing I could think of doing was raise the Defense a point and drop the attack a point, or give him an extra FP.

I don't think he really needs any more defensive abilities. He already has Stealth for shooters and Block for melee. As much as they could be/were bosses, that doesn't make them need to be anymore powerful than I've already made them.
As for Immediate Shadow Trooper Reserves, I really don't think it fits him. If I had to choose any certain character from TFU that I would relate to the Imperial Shadow troopers, it would be the Elite Stormtrooper Commander, not the Emperor's Shadow Guards.

Well, if you remember, the Shadow Guard summoned Shadow Troopers on numerous occasions to help him attempt to take down Marek. You have played the game, haven't you?
