Old Republic Reserves 20 (If you roll a 16 for initiative, you can add up to 20 points of Old Republic characters to your squad immediately before your first activation of the round)
Recon (Roll twice for initiative once per round, choosing either roll, if any character with Recon in the same squad has line of sight to an enemy)
Commander Effect: Old Republic allies gain Gregarious (+4 Attack if an ally is within 6 squares). Allies named Old Republic Recruit gain Spotter+20 (If this character combines fire against a target within 6 squares, the attacker gets +20 Damage against that target).
Design Notes
This is one of the pieces that the KotOR project had essentially finalized before "the Crash" over at the old boards. She's similar to the current finalized version in the OR database, but her lower price and broader commander effect make her more useful to the faction.
Recon and Old Republic Reserves are nice, but the core of her characters is the Gregarious commander effect. I think a serious and very legitimate complaint with respect to the unique heroes of the Old Republic is that their stats are somewhat low (relatively to comparable characters in other factions). There are commander effects to help the non-uniques, but little for the unique characters... until now.
Under Dodonna's command, folks like Mira and Lucien become more dangerous, and even Carth doesn't look so bad any more.
While the Old Republic Recruit commander effect is a bit specific, the piece is currently a complete waste. One of the things the faction could use is a solid faction-specific Spotter, so I figured why create a whole new piece when an old one can be given new life instead?
