If you like the concept of the armor, I suppose we can create an ability. What do you have in mind?

Mandalorian Armor # (When this character takes damage from an attack, reduce the damage dealt by 10 with a save of #)

Or
Mandalorian Armor # (When this character takes damage from an attack, reduce the damage dealt by # with a save of 11)

that was another possibility that I thought of, but I don't think any Mandalorians had armor tough enough to reduce that much.

What we did before the site vanished was Made Bes'kargam (or however its spelled) the mandalorian armor much like VCA from the vong. Makes sense, and fits what we are going for.

Yeah, that could work, I suppose.

See, here's my problem with giving the Mandos armor: it diminishes what makes the Vong unique.

Well, it doesn't exactly rule out Vong. Their armor works against all damage. Mando Armor reduces damage from attacks only. And finally, Dark Armor works against attacks, but is nullified by lightsabers. So, it's a kind of tier. Vong armor is by far the most durable, Mando Armor is the next strongest (though this is debatable), and Dark Armor is the easiest to get around.

And you've sort of supported what I'm saying bugs me about giving armor to the Mandos in general.
In terms of game balance, the Vong already have a HUGE deficit because they're a melee-based faction. They compensate for that with direct-damage abilities and armor, and, like the Mandos, a number of mid-range non-unique pieces. The Mandos, on the other hand, have a nice array of shooters AND melee pieces, but largely lack direct damage ablities (and, like almost everyone else, armor). To give the Mandos strong armor mucks with that balance of power.

B/c we create an ability does not mean all the pieces will suddenly gain it. Almost all the Vong have crab armor, only select Mando's would necessarily have Armor.

Still seems like a slippery slope to create Mandalorian armor that's better than "regular" armor.

regular meaning Dark Armor?

It's some of the most common.

Ya, but Mandalorian Iron was incredibly durable, and I think the ability should represent that. Was Vader's armor durable enough to merit it's own Wookieepedia article?
