Indeed. The ASP droid was 10 points (but remember that he came out way back in Universe) so I wouldn't cost this guy much higher. Maybe 11 or 12.

You're completely right. Actually, looking at similar pieces, he should probably cost less than 10.
Base stats are comparable to three different WotC pieces: the Twi'lek Scoundrel, Kaminoan Ascetic, and Wookiee Soldier (all of whom cost 6 or 7). These pieces all have Melee Attack, 10 damage, and HPs and Defense within a "notch" of the Wookiee Slave. They have higher attacks (+5 or +6), but this guy's situational Gregarious basically brings him up to the same area, on average.
So, if we look at the basic abilities as essentially the same, each has one special ability left over: Cleave, Cunning Attack, and Double Attack.
How much is Lift worth compared to those abilities? Maybe a few points, but definitely not 6-8 points.
Upon closer inspection, I'd probably price this fella at around 8.
Sure, his stats are better than the ASP's overall, but the ASP isn't limited by Melee Attack, and that usually counts for a bit.

The ASP doesn't have Melee Attack? And all this time I thought he did! Ok, well, I'll price him at 8 now.

Yeah, I was a little surprised to discover (remember?) that the ASP doesn't have Melee Attack. He DOES have Heavy Weapon, but he also has Industrial Repair.

Heavy Weapon would reduce about the same as Melee though, they are both very restricting. I guess 9 would be about right, I would pay that much for a Lifter.
